In the mid '60s, Tom Saffen at company headquarters in Rochester
hired a team of young copywriters and art directors to create some of the
greatest advertising and sales promotion pieces in the history of corporate
communications at the time. Xerox Team Advertising made history in the
seven short years they were together believing that great advertising takes
risk. This team, along with its New York advertising agency (PKL), lived
by
this belief, its work in periodicals highlighted today. Pictured at a
reunion years later at Bill's Gay Nineties, a naughty speakeasy in NYC from
the original team are left to right the late Randy Stover, the late Tom
Lowes, the late Michael Barkman, Bill Smith and up front, Richie Giurlando.
We had one blast at Xerox.
